Item #: SCP-069-UA
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-069-UA must be contained in a secure chamber at least 10 x 10 meters wide and 2 meters tall, with soundproof walls. Placing any objects inside SCP-069-UA, exposing it to any powerful sounds or musical melodies, or restricting its motion range is only allowed during authorized testing. Experiments that involve placing SCP-069-UA in closed spaces less than 2 x 2 x 2 meters in size are prohibited.
Description: SCP-069-UA is a charcoal smoothing-iron, made of cast iron and weighing 5.1 kg. The left side of the iron bears the inscription "Дата выпуска 1933"1 as well as the State Emblem of the Soviet Union. The iron itself was likely made at the specified time; the anomalous properties were apparently acquired at a later date.
Every day at 5:00 PM an event designated AEX-069 occurs. At the start of the event SCP-069-UA rises above the ground to a height of 50 to 250 centimeters. Within the next four (4) minutes, the object flies around the area along a unique trajectory. In case the event AEX-069 occurs when the SCP-069-UA is located indoors, it will remain inside the premises. case adjacent rooms area available, it can travel over up to 25 rooms.
It should be noted that the object counteracts to attempts to disrupt its motion during AEX-069. Experiments have shown that if at the beginning of AEX-069 the object was fastened to something (for example, with a chain), then, at the onset of the event, SCP-069-UA makes sharp moves that break the fixtures (in case of a chain, tear a link apart). Fixtures of any strength tested so far were successfully broken. Also, during the event SCP-069-UA tries to avoid obstacles. For example, during one experiment, thirty 1x2 meter sheets of glass were placed in SCP-069-UA's containment chamber. During the next AEX-069 event the object never collided with any of the glass sheets.
Also at the start of every AEX-069 event SCP-069-UA emits a melody, referred to as SCP-069-M-UA. Most of the times SCP-069-M-UA is the Hymn of the Soviet Union; this version of SCP-069-M-UA is referred to as SCP-069-M1-UA. Also, if SCP-069-UA contains charcoal (or another flammable material) at the onset of AEX-069, then during the event said material burns down completely, emitting the expected amount of heat. Charcoal and many other substances that can be considered fuel burn down completely, without any ash or residue. In case SCP-069-UA was filled with non-combustive material, results may vary greatly, although they, obviously, do depend on material's properties.
Discovery: Object was discovered in the warehouse of an abandoned factory in Donetsk region of Ukrainie, [EXACT ADDRESS DELETED], which was closed in 1991. According to the further investigations, a certain [PERSONAL DATA REDACTED], formerly a category 5 welder2, later transferred to work as a guard at the warehouse for health reasons, had disappeared shortly before the factory was shut down. The subject was also an active member of a local CPSU3 cell. Some time later MTF "Gossip Writers" found a story about a "possessed" iron on http://███████, a creepypasta site. The story had several photos attached, three (3) of which depicted SCP-069-UA floating, and a video of AEX-069 that was shot using a cellphone. Initial analysis of the photos deemed them most likely genuine. One of the eyewitness also testified that he broke his hand when he tried to grab SCP-069-UA while it was in the air. After that the object was successfully recovered by Foundation agents, and all eyewitnesses were treated with amnestics. A cover story, describing the "flying iron" as fiction, was posted on the site.
Personnel with clearance 2/069 and above are allowed to read Document E2-069 - partial experiment logs:
Experiment №:
Date:
Procedure:
Result:
Experiment №: E069-A█
Date: 1/06/2011
Procedure: Playing the hymn of Soviet Union during an AEX-069 event.
Result: The moment the hymn was turned on, SCP-069-UA stopped emitting SCP-069-M1-UA for 1.5 seconds. Event AEX-069 lasted for 8 minutes, with SCP-069-M1-UA sounding to the rhythm of the hymn.
Experiment №: E069-A█
Date: 5/07/2011 - 30/07/2011
Procedure: Playing the song "Katusha" every time an event AEX-069 occurred.
Result: When the record started playing, SCP-069-UA stopped emitting SCP-069-M1-UA. After 9/08/2011 it was noted that SCP-069-UA is trying to mimic the song. Every next day the amount and quality of the sounds emitted by SCP-069-UA was increasing, until on 30/07/2011 it played the melody of song "Katusha" in its entirety. This melody, played by object, was designated as SCP-069-M2-UA. On subsequent days the object resumed emitting SCP-069-M1-UA, but reproducing of SCP-069-M2-UA during an AEX-069 event was observed ██ more times.
Experiment №: E069-A█
Date: 7/08/2011
Procedure: Playing Yesterday by The Beatles during an AEX-069 event.
Result: When the record started playing, SCP-069-UA stopped emitting SCP-069-M-UA for 8 second. After this SCP-069-UA resumed emitting SCP-069-M-UA at an increased volume. Also it was noted that during the flight SCP-069-UA made many sharp movements and collided with the walls of containment chamber several times.
Experiment №: E069-A█
Date: 9/08/2011
Procedure: Playing Сва-Батальон by a ukrainian NSBM-group Dub Buk during an AEX-069 event.
Result: 47 seconds after the start of track SCP-069-UA flew out of the containment chamber and further along the corridor of Section 125, often bumping into walls and other things. Before the event ended SCP-069-UA flew 900 metres and stopped near [REDACTED]. It was also noted that object emitted SCP-069-M-UA with different volume and speed. Observation has indicated that SCP-069-UA was not damaged.
Under certain conditions this object can be very dangerous. - Senior Researcher Shevchenko, Section 125 Director.
Experiment №: E069-B█
Date: 13/08/2011
Procedure: Filling SCP-069-UA with pieces of wet wood before the AEX-069 event.
Result: During AEX-069 the wood was burned to a great amount of cinder. The mass of cinder was ██% of mass of source wood.
Experiment №: E069-B█
Date: 20/08/2011
Procedure: Filling SCP-069-UA with ice cubes and copper shavings before the AEX-069 event.
Result: During AEX-069 the ice evaporated completely. Copper shavings turned to a powdered mix of copper oxides and hydroxides.
Experiment №: E069-B█
Date: 23/08/2011
Procedure: Placing a thermometer inside SCP-069-UA before the AEX-069 event.
Result: Immediately after the event has ended the termometer's readings matched room temperature. No traces of it having been heated were found.
Experiment №: E069-B█
Date: 27/08/2011
Procedure: Placing a specimen of Passer domesticus (House sparrow) inside SCP-069-UA before the AEX-069 event.
Result: [DATA EXPUNGED]
We must remember that the object reacts to sounds, and sometimes in very wierd way. - Senior Researcher Shevchenko, Lead Researcher of the Test Battery E069-B.
Note: Further experiments with placing living creatures inside SCP-069-UA were prohibited by the Ethics Committee.
Experiment №: E069-D█
Date: 7/11/2011
Procedure: Before the AEX-069 event SCP-069-UA was put inside a locked safe. Lead Researcher was monitoring the experiment from [REDACTED] observation room.
Result: One minute after the event has started SCP-069-UA breached the safe wall, several other walls and struck the researcher, who initiated this experiment, killing him. According to the recorded footage of the incident, SCP-069-UA has reached a top speed of ███ metres per second.
The AEX-069 event lasted for 30 minutes; in addition to SCP-069-M1-UA and SCP-069-M2-UA the songs "И вновь продолжается бой4", and "День Победы5", as well as ███ █████ were heard sounding from the object.
Further experiments with placing SCP-069-UA inside any confined spaces less than 2 x 2 x 2 metres in size are prohibited.
Experiment №: E069-NUC
Date: Experiment was not conducted. Experiment is pending approval from Councel O5.
Procedure: Moving SCP-069-UA to a nuclear test site and placing a capsule filled with deutrerium and tritium inside it before an AEX-069 event.
The object appears to be unbreakable - it didn't seem to get even a scratch after breaking through walls at a great speed. It also burns down any combustible material or chemical fuel that we place into it. It would be interesting to know what would happen when nuclear or thermonuclear fuel is placed inside. SCP-069-UA may ignore it - or it may not, which will result in a great amount of heat being emitted.
Even in this case, I doubt we will able to use this object as a useful source of energy. Though, we may be able to use it as a last-ditch anomalous bomb. - Dr. █████████.
Good day.
Yesterday, on 08th of May 2012 we concluded an experiment in order to determine the nature of SCP-055. The following is an abridged version of the laboratory report. Full report can be obtained in the archive or acquired from me by those interested.
The experiment was based on the mechanism of circumventing the object's influence Dr. Hughes discovered. As we know, information about what the object is not, can be retained and is not suspectible to the object's influence. This is its primary flaw - for example we can say the object's mass is not greater than X kg and is not less than X kg. Thus we can obtain most of the object's properties, if not all of them.
The second supposition is the object's description itself. The statement that related information '"leaks" out of a human mind' must not be true, or else it would have been affected too. This applies to all other media as well.
We conducted the experiment using equipment listed here:
- One digital camera;
- One 512 Mb memory card;
- One notepad
- One ballpoint pen;
- One mechanical camera;
- Half a liter of developing solution;
- Half a liter of fixative solution;
- One roll of film for the mechanical camera.
Details on all the equipment as well as a full dump of the memory card are attached to the full report.
The memory card was formatted to FAT16. Afterwards, marker codes were placed in each free sector. The ballpoint pen and the notepad were weighed to the hundredths of a gram. 100 milliliters of developing and fixative solutions were taken for later analysis.
Two research groups were involved. First group was to enter SCP-055 containment cell, take pictures on both mechanical and digital cameras and take notes in the notepad. The film was to be immediately developed and prepared for printing. Afterwards all equipment was to be stored in a safe.
Second group was not informed about the experiment's relation to SCP-055. They were tasked with chemical analysis of developing and fixative solutions, analyzing data on the memory card and examining the ballpoint pen and the notepad.
Analysis of the memory card has shown that all marker values are still in place and the filesystem does not contain any files. The "photos taken" counter on the digital camera, on the other hand, was incremented by 58. Developed film was found to be undeveloped and unlighted. The amount of ink in the ballpoint pen was almost equal to the amount before the experiment and the notepad only contained some unrelated blots. Finally, the chemical solutions were almost identical to check samples; there was no precipitation in the solution cans.
The experiment with the film and solutions was repeated at an increased pace and recorded. Records show flakes of precipitation dissolving in the solutions and the film taking its initial appearance.
Conclusion: According to our current theory we are dealing with an object moving backwards in time. This property also covers all information directly related to it. The presence of an observer keeps information in place, but in his absence information is "recorded" in reverse. Chemical reactions are reverted, as are physical actions and electrical processes. This is further confirmed by the marker values on the memory card - if we were facing a wipe, the space would have been blank instead of containing the values it did before. Hence, neural connections in human brain are also formed in reverse, which explains the object's property of "disappearing" from memory.
I can also note that if this theory is true, there is no reason to develop and/or change containment procedure. Our initial containment date is the time of its final escape and vice versa. It has already been through everything we can throw at it, and we already cannot influence its future.
1502
On The Seventh Day Of Christmas.

SCP-1782 | Tabula Rasa: Now that I think back, a user named Freudian is responsible for the interpretation and popular canon for it. I was just transcribing a creepy ass dream. — Aaand I've retted it again with a new canon involving The Flock that you can always ignore if you like.
1982
+++1329 (дополнение)
1175
SCP-1175: Bovine Icon - Crafted as a completely mundane, if bizarre piece of artwork. Got co-opted by a not-properly-aligned-with-our-reality entity; the reason various types of imaging of the statue's internal cavity keep coming back different is because it's basically an overlap of various states of reality that our machines aren't programmed to recognize. The other statues are essentially just guard drones protecting it from being damaged before it can get home, as expected. The growing pillars beneath are trying to tap into the nearest energy source it recognizes, the heat and pressure of the Earth's mantle, which would give it enough of a shunt to get out of what it sees as basically the equivalent of a human being getting stuck in a 2-dimensional plane. It eats people killed by 1175-2 as a way to remove the evidence, apparently not in realization that moving statues are pretty evidential on their own. It IS, however, respectful of the locals, and recognizes (somehow) the sculptor as the owner of the property and thus the "lord of the land". It sends out -2 to tear down new structures because it's hard enough to concentrate as-is. The joke in the discussion about the AWCY guys getting diced by -2 is as exactly in-canon as you care for it to be.
I like to connect my articles. Sometimes by names, years, locations, and sometimes through other means. You may have already seen my Class of '76 series, wherein I have created several school-themed SCP articles all based around the year 1976. They're all connected too, at least in my head. I don't think it's at all obvious in the articles, so here's how they connect: SCP-1833 was a yearbook produced in the same town as SCP-332, although at a different school. The game that was taking place on the day SCP-332 activated was between the two schools. SCP-1423 depicts students who went to both schools, on their last summer trip. Now, why these anomalies manifested is going to remain a mystery, at least you know how they connect.
SCP-1357-A, SCP-1273-A, and SCP-1879-2 all go to the same place and answer the same guy.
1926-R
SCP-1926-R is not a hoax. It's suppressed by O5 order; the real question is not does it exist, but why is it being kept out of the database? Either the O5s have some [REDACTED] containment procedure, or are intentionally doing nothing about it.
SCP-1926-R is 100% real. One of the O5s delisted it as a coverup.
The Broken God allows all mechanical, digital, etc. anomalies to communicate, provided you know how. Reservoir Skips actually happened, in a canon that is (for the most part) serious.
1902
You can't destroy a deity-level consciousness, or even part of one. You can only split it up or disperse it. The deity in the idol that became SCP-1902 isn't even mostly in that pile of trash, but there are millions of minor, lobotomized smoke deities flying around from when they burnt it. One day, they might re-converge. Who knows.
1910
SCP-1910 is the result of a militant eco-terrorist reality warper/wizard/whatever you wanna call it wanting to purge the stoners from his following, and send a message to the others. He felt that their use of plants as recreational drugs went against his image of man's harmony with plant life, and found a way to both protect nature and kill off the junkies in his cabal, thus stopping all damage to plants by his followers. I've considered doing more with this group, but I didn't want to presume that I could try to kick off a GOI-style thing with my first article, especially considering my rather low contribution to the site at this time.
1810
SCP-1810 … well, yknow how most sitcoms/cartoons focused on at least one character in High School will eventually have one episode dedicated to raising a baby surrogate for a week? Consider this a flip of that. Prewitt is a sentient organic automaton that was sent to our dimension/planet/timestream (leaving that deliberately ambiguous) to learn how to properly take care of children, since the people from his home consider the people of our planet expendable. There are others like him. His goal was to learn how to keep a child alive and healthy for the duration of a week. He had almost succeeded with Amelia, but he still didn't get the "feeding" bit right…
1814
SCP-1814 — It's ancient. A couple tens of thousands of years ancient. The base is more modern. SCP-1814-1 killed off the Denisovans, a hominid subspecies. The fire itself is even more ancient - probably volcanic in origin.
1756
SCP-1756 is a recording of Siskel & Ebert…somewhere. Maybe it's the afterlife, or a parallel world; researchers haven't been able to figure it out.
The working theory is that it was created around 1999 by a distraught fan who couldn't stand not to see Siskel review movies anymore. He found a way to find them again…through anomalous means, of course. Again, though, just a hypothesis.
1391
SCP-1391 actually traps the people who end up with stone heads there. They're mute, immobile, and eternally watching. It's probably fairly uncomfortable and annoying. However, the Foundation doesn't know this happens. How could they?
1395
What happened to the doctor in SCP-1395? And what's "The Void" like?
Not tellin'. The implication is there if you look hard enough.
As for "The Void"…well, I had SCP-1510 and KOTOR in mind when I wrote it. It's similar to the Rakatan Prison, only more intangible/incorporeal. The Void, BTW, doesn't actually screw with your perception of time by itself; it's just…nothingness. Forever. 1395-A had gone so long with only his thoughts that days and years meant nothing to him. For comparison, imagine waking up from a long coma…you had only your thoughts for years on end, and all of a sudden, you're brought back into the world. Waking up from the Void is like that, except it is dreamless and empty.
1955
Got anything to share on SCP-1955
The director wasn't infected by it, even after viewing it multiple times, and deliberately spread copies of it around before his passing. There may or may not have been a GOI involved.
Also, it had a hand in creating MST3K, in-universe. I'll let you stew on the implications of that.
1265
Explain some stuff about SCP-1265?
Firstly, the SCP-1265-α instances. Keep in mind that not all dinosaurs are preserved as fossils. Because of this, whatever is causing the dinosaurs to appear here has incomplete knowledge on the specimens it's putting in there. So, he defaults to old dinosaur stereotypes: aggressive, homicidal, and dumb. The more the fossil record was uncovered, the less and less aggressive things in the preserve become. Unfortunately, some dinosaurs never have their fossils discovered, so those that don't stay aggressive forever.
Other prehistoric creatures found in the preserve include pteranodons, ammonites, and various prehistoric fish.
1554
What about SCP-1554? Why's it act the way it does?
Once upon a time in the 60's, there was a hardcore Tolkien fan who found out some of his stoner friends were tearing out pages of one of his favorite books to make joints. So, he used some weird-ass magic to punish them for destroying The Fellowship. Tearing out the pages to make blunts would result in them tearing objects out of the book, the water from the hookah would make the pages come to life, having the audacity to burn it would fucking kill them, and he added in the bit with drawing on the pages of the book just because. They eventually fucked off, and the book ended up sitting on the shelves of a local library for years before recovery.
1366
What about SCP-1366?
The Rumor Mill was formerly the main lumber-mill for the Siskin Logging Company, just like the article says. Wilhelm Siskin, the owner, was a type of reality bender that, when he told stories, they came true. Some of this power also existed in his lumbermill, which he built simply by telling a tale about it. He used his power, combined with that of the lumbermill, to build the town of Siskin, [REDACTED] populate it, and make the town interesting for its inhabitants. He took in another reality bender with similar powers at some time in his life; this child later turned against him, which lead to the downfall of his logging company, and ultimately, his death due to an accident in the mill. This child is only known in the town records as J.S.
1576
SCP-1576, the Edisonian afterlife communicator, is one small piece from an organization made up of many famous and not-so-famous industrial tycoons and early 20th century political figures, including Henry Ford, Henry Sinclair, Albert Fall, John D. Rockefeller and tangentially President Warren G. Harding and his Ohio gang. They believed in an occult mystic who helped them build a number of devices. For one reason or another, this group disbanded shortly after the onset of the depression and their devices were left to gather dust. Some of them went on to make their way into the hands of budding churches, while others Found their way into weirder hands. There are a few others that I know are involved in my head, like SCP-1723, SCP-1328, and SCP-1501 but I don't quite know how to fit those yet. Maybe I can make more skips from it, or a canon, or whatever.
1769
In SCP-1769, who is "The Beloved" that infected individuals talk about?
It's an extradimensional entity that inhabits the internet. It feels extremely isolated, and so tries to bring people into the internet; this is what SCP-1769-A is intended to accomplish. During the last stage, individuals will enter a coma where they can still access the internet, so basically, they will have left the physical world and reside in the internet world with The Beloved.
1665
SCP-1665's crossword puzzles actually become more and more complex as you write more about it. The article you see right now is one of the first infections. Pretty soon, it started putting words in reverse, using esoteric clues…it drove everyone mad. That's why the Foundation's content to keep a few audio records of it and leave it be, though a handful of researchers continue to write about it to test their wits.
1920
SCP-1920 Isn't being sent by aliens or whatever. It's normal humans, maybe in an alternate timeline, maybe from the future. Anyways, they're sending these things as a source of power for them, since they're world is pretty much after a fallout.
Imagine they're in a world where almost everything's been scavenged, and resources are at an all time low. Light Courier Enterprises used to be a corporation, but is now split into several factions. They're using the remnants of technology from the previous civilization for their personal gains, such as having a false sense of wealth, or to get energy to power machines. They don't really know they're contacting us, as they don't have a full understanding on how the things they are using work.
Yet, they continue to have hope in surviving (as can be seen in some of what they send) even if their world is a wreck. Eh, this headcanon kind of sucks, but I'm sticking to this for now.)
1485
SCP-1485-A isn't our universe. It's similar to ours, very similar, but if you look closely you start to notice discrepancies. Obviously the SCP Wiki doesn't exist in that world (didn't want to go the meta route), but there are other things. Maybe a person you worked with at Target works at Safeway instead, or maybe a politician voted differently on a piece of legislation. If you were to fall into a hole from our world to theirs, you'd feel as if you were in a realistic dream: similar enough to superficially fool you, but different enough to make you uncomfortable.
The best comparison would be Earth Prime from Sliders.
1490
I actually wanted to use the AWCY? reference in SCP-1490, with the intent that the backstory would hint that they wanted to recruit/take this reality bender. However, they sort of realized he was going a bit a wacko, and they decided that his "art" just wasn't what they were looking for.
So yeah, he ain't cool yet, and never will be.
I'm glad people liked it for the concept alone though
1707
1. Researcher Dimaccio didn't just "transfer out." He was removed from the project by the Ethics Committee.
2. MTF Theta-90 should never have been assigned to recover 1707. They are extremely able, but their specialty is in objects or locations with anomalous geometrical or topological properties (hence their nickname, and the pun of the MTF designation). This is one of the reasons why Agent Blackboxes was infested.
3. Agent Blackboxes never understood why Paulie didn't come back. Shortly after the last interview excerpt, Dr. Xiao requested an amnestic and a transfer. This was denied by order of the Ethics Committee.
811
The guy who made SCP-811 never intended to only make one. He was just unlucky enough to get eaten by the prototype.
135
SCP-135 was never actually born; her mother died from 135's effects sometime in the third trimester of the pregnancy, and then she just kept growing.
1284
The entity responsible for SCP-1284 is a moon-obsessed reality warper on a centuries-long power trip, which is probably obvious. He's not killing the girls for the evulz or for the sake of killing them, though. It's only natural for a bride to go live at her husband's home after they're properly married, after all, and so when they die he takes their souls to his moon palace inside the moon, to be with him forever instead of moving on to an appropriate afterlife.
And yes, I'm aware that the phrase "moon palace inside the moon" sounds dissonantly silly in a paragraph about a creepy child-grooming psychopath, but he literally lives somewhere inside the moon, in a palace he made with his reality-warping powers, and everything from the floor plan to the decor is moon-themed. Because he can.
947
For SCP-947-3 to open, and for them to finally be able to leave the hotel, the instances of SCP-947-1 must fill SCP-947-2 themselves. This is hampered by the Foundation, not them, filling it, which is why they try so hard to reopen it just so they can fill it up again.
1823
The whirlpool functions as a semi-permeable portal to the dimension which holds Charybdis's physical body (the canyon is its maw). Scylla somehow gained mobility and escaped from the rock it used to inhabit. Due to this, Poseidon ordered Charybdis to track down and devour Scylla because the latter was causing too much trouble. Scylla is now imprisoned in Charybdis's maw by its "teeth" but cannot be digested and constantly tries to escape. Charybdis does not mean to wander around aimlessly, it simply is too focused on holding Scylla to control its own movements across the ocean.
It's one Keter containing another.
1534
SCP-1534-1 is only one of several entities similar to it that help out SCP-1534-2, who is a psychopomp. The other entities are also animals with different anomalous properties that originally were just normal animals, but SCP-1534-2 became their friend and eventually they became his helpers. His helpers all find ways to "capture" the soul of those who have passed on and "contain" them in something somehow. 1534-1's form of doing that is by eating a bone from the dead person and dropping a tail feather, which contains the person's soul. 1534-2 then comes around and picks up the feathers. The only reason why 1534-1 stockpiles them before -2 comes around is because -2 is just a little bit lazy sometimes.
1534-1 became more intelligent when he became one of -2's helpers. The thing about him understanding any language spoken to him and the written note from -2 that shows up in whatever language the reader knows best is because since -2 is a being of a higher plane of existence, he understands all human speech and also "expresses" language rather than speak it so that all humans can also understand him. His helpers have the ability to understand any type of human speech, but are limited a little by the fact that they are animals and thus are not "true" soulled beings.
The whole "feathers becoming leaves" thing was because -1's feathers can't drop unless there's a soul inside, but -1 is also a physical being so it's possible for feathers to come loose. -2's solution to the problem was to have the feathers transform into leaves, which most people don't really pay attention to anyway and because -1 is a bird who flies in the sky and leaves come from trees and he thought he was being oh so clever about it.
1568
Originally I had planned for 1568 to be found in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales. This was apparently frowned about. Are there more living Kingston's out there? Yes. And they may or may not be in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Wales.
1843
SCP-1843 is actually an experimental extraterrestrial device, capable to turn innocent, adorable sheeps in war strategists, commanders and dictators, strong and intelligent enough to bend at their own will the whole human race in few years, causing a DK-CLASS Dominance Shift scenario. But sheeps don't know this, so they just start to worship it as some sort of God.
1827
SCP-1827 is all explained in the discussion. However, I didn't say that it will completely disappear in 500 years, when the Turkeys will ultimately defeat the Herons, regaining once again the control of the Theocratic Monarchy of Hindler.
1741
SCP-1741 is a reality show for elder gods. Sort of, maybe.
The general underlying themes of it all is biblical in nature, heavily hinted by island-3 (apples, knowledge). The big hint, or at least I thought it was the big hint, was when D-17412 said "Decalogue." -2 is don't kill, -4 is don't steal, -5 is have no other gods. In order to get off the archipelago you have to complete a set of tests specific to your island, and then initiate a Wake Event.
Maybe the gods are trying to make people break their morals, maybe they're trying to teach people these laws aren't absolute and that there are situations where breaking them is acceptable. Maybe they're just doing it for kicks.
But it doesn't even end when you complete the test and Wake. Because then you're in SCP-1741-A as the custodian, and instead of being effectively immortal due to time shenanigans you're actually full-blown immortal. And the only way to get out is for someone to replace you, tempting you to try to bring others to the archipelago to increase your chances of freedom by capturing others.
Okay, yeah, the gods behind this are jerks.

SCP-1193:
One in twelve people, when exposed to a phenomenon like SCP-1193, do not find it unusual. It is impossible to explain to any third party what, exactly, is happening. Accordingly, the person who installed the phone was a perfectly mundane Verizon employee, who sent a bill to the entity that ordered the line.
The bill was paid in full.
SCP-1272:
This is an early AWCY artifact. Ironically, Emile Abruzzo's reactionary Futurist manifesto — now very rare — provided most of the anomalous techniques that AWCY uses to make art.
SCP-1539:
No secrets here, really.
SCP-1348:
So many secrets. Most are here. But there are some that I haven't discussed: Ain Dara is a real location in the Dead Cities of Syria. Kahn and the unnamed Druze director have been working together since they were both members of Mossad. The bombing in Syria is a real event.
SCP-1427:
Lots of secrets here, too. Again, some from the undisclosed pile. Homo sapiens decensus is not entirely extinct: there is still a relict population in northeastern Anatolia, though only a small number are awake and active simultaneously. The SCP records attributing the nuclear blast to the USSR are, in fact, fraudulent. The Foundation activated the nuclear failsafe device at their Khyshtym facility after the GRU began making serious inquiries into their activities.
After the death of Stalin and Beria, no one in Khrushchev's inner circle knew that the Foundation was operating in the USSR. This made things very difficult for the Foundation there.
SCP-1877:
This is precisely the same phenomenon as SCP-1193, viewed from another angle.
+++ 520
SCP-520 is functioning exactly as designed. Its inventor planned to add a bit more selectivity in the next model, but the Foundation caught up with her before she could manage it. They were surprised to find 520 there — they were after her for something else she'd built — and even more surprised to find the exhaustive documentation she'd written for it, more than enough to replicate the thing. Much of the documentation is written in the first person, in a style far too casual for technical handbooks, and contains numerous baffling little in-jokes with its intended reader. Clearly, the intended reader was neither the inventor nor the Foundation.
All the 520 papers are in Foundation archives now. There are a fair few people assigned to finding that intended reader, though not many of them know that she's connected to 520. You have to be pretty high up in the 520 research team to even know that the documents exist.
628
If certain songs are played within earshot of SCP-628, it will sing along.
711
There's about a 5% chance that String 17 is just a blip on SCP-711's detectors — meaningless noise that was never sent and never will be. This information is heavily redacted for morale purposes.
713
With a little ingenuity, SCP-713 could be used to create strong AI. Several people at the Foundation have the skills to pull off this feat, but none of them have thought to try it yet.
SCP-713 could also be used as an ectoentropic fabricator of remarkable power and flexibility; by feeding it even a small amount of mass and then editing the object's properties through the file in 713, it could create almost any structure possible with ordinary matter, plus quite a few that shouldn't work at all. It has occurred to the Foundation to try this, but the results are highly classified. The researchers who worked on it all sought amnestic treatment afterwards, but one still recalls fragments of the incident. Something about 713's system being more robust to recursion than reality's is.
If Dr. King tried to experiment with 713, it would spontaneously reboot into Mac OS.
799
"Pastel hues and […] stylized neotenous animals" are the patterns most appropriate for a baby blanket. The Foundation hasn't had time to notice it yet, but SCP-799 tends even more strongly towards that kind of coloration when it's hungry.
1001
SCP-1001 is a thaumaturge of sorts. The patterns it creates are something like runes, drawn for occult purposes. If we gave it enough pig bones, it would be able to do minor magic. The Foundation suspects as much, which is the primary reason its meals are all bone-free.
What they don't know is that the greenhouse isn't 100% secure, and SCP-1001 is very, very gradually accumulating the exoskeletons of ants — just one every month or two, but they're adding up. Ants are much more industrious than pigs, much better at reshaping the world around them. That handful of exoskeletons has more power in it than a hundred pigs' worth of bones; 1001 has had enough to break itself free for six months, and it's still stockpiling.
I won't pretend to know what it's planning, because its mind is truly alien to me, but I'm sure the Foundation won't like it very much.
2697
SCP-2697-1 is a compact terraforming device, sent to Earth from the world that would later send us SCP-697. The "unidentified liquid" released by 2697-1, and the residue found in the cracks surrounding it, are an earlier stage in the invention of 697; by the time its creators sent 697, they'd learned to make the stuff fireproof under most circumstances.
They've also improved their AI technology since then. The brain of the terraforming device was a pretty dim bulb; when reality itself rejected the thing, burning away all its hard work on the surface, it didn't immediately take the hint. Instead, it spent a year bringing in more transformative-sludge reserves before trying again. And again. And again. It took over fifty repetitions to finallly go dormant, which was long enough for the yearly fire cycle to seep into the slow, dreaming memory of the land itself. Places are not swift thinkers, nor rash ones, and the valley has ensured a cleansing burn every single year since.
(For what it's worth, I didn't write 697 — I just wrote 2697 based off my headcanon for it.)
SCP-2880:
The Savaki gave SCP-2880-A their anomalous properties by punching a hole in reality into the domain of a storm deity, though they didn't realize this at first. The storm deity pushed itself into our world using the -A objects, and the Savaki destroyed them to stop its advance, though by that point they were pretty much dead anyway. The storm deity may or may not be Tāwhirimātea.
1260
SCP-1260 and the other "Ghost Ships" referenced in the article are actually traps designed to lure people into the alternate dimension in the article. The beings who produce the voices described in the logs then feed off the "life force" of those unfortunate to be trapped there.
2sp00ky, no?
2682
SCP-2682 is a self insert.
2602
SCP-2602 used to be a library.
2617
SCP-2617: The 17th of June is the date where the Romanov royals were executed by the Bolsheviks.
1747
SCP-1747 or Going, Going, Gone includes references to an unknown character named "Hugo Edwards". Hugo, was a high rolling member of MC&D back in the late 1800s, constantly buying anomalous properties all over London, America, and parts of Russia. He was also a malicious sociopath who murdered his children and essentially caused his wife to commit suicide over his constant abuse towards her, coupling that with the unexpected loss of her children and she offed herself soon after. Hugo was made aware of the ghost of his wife attempting to use a shovel to dig up his children in the cemetery that he owned when one of his guards reported the event in progress. So determined to fuck with his wife even further, Hugo used his resources given to him by MC&D to curse the shovel with its anomalous properties forever.
967
the Ballet Academy isn't actually part of SCP-967. It's an entirely separate anomaly that wandered into 967 one day and got stuck.
